Michael Hammond

Michael is a seasoned attorney whose practice encompasses a wide range of areas, including civil litigation, complex real estate disputes and transactions, probate and guardianship, municipal law, oil and gas, water law, and land use and zoning. Michael was raised in Arlington, Texas, graduating from Lamar High School. He then earned his B.A. in Political Science from The University of Texas in Arlington and his juris doctor from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law.

Michael began his career in Cleburne, Texas, practicing oil and gas law during the boom of the Barnett Shale. He continued that concentration while working for a Houston-based law firm in their Dallas, Texas location. From Dallas, Michael was recruited to relocate to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where he lived and practiced for 8 years. During that time, he founded an oil and gas practice group for a Pittsburgh-based national law firm before re-focusing his career at a smaller firm concentrating in municipal and school law, land use and zoning, and civil litigation.

Michael and his family relocated back to Cleburne in 2021 to continue his passion for helping clients in a smaller community. A reformed “big law” partner, he enjoys working for clients that entrust him with their most difficult challenges in a practice that allows him to get to know and advocate for their interests in an exceptionally personalized manner.

Michael is known as an attorney that is not afraid to fiercely advocate for his clients, while maintaining respect for the judicial process and opposing parties. He regularly takes on cases other lawyers reject and is not afraid to step into difficult, complex, and challenging situations. He considers himself fortunate to be trusted by his clients to work on their behalf in many different areas of the law and is proud of his uniquely diversified skills and experience.

Michael is licensed to practice in Texas, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Ohio as well as in the federal courts of the Western District of Pennsylvania, and the Northern Districts of Texas and West Virginia.
